Today, we celebrated 11 years of marriage. Thinking about the past 11 years we have:
- lived in 5 different houses
- lived in 3 different towns
- had 8 different jobs
- gone through 2 miscarriages
- birthed 3 incredible little boys
- gone on 11 international flights
- traveled to countless destinations in the U.S.
- cried an ocean of tears
- shared lots of laughs
- said good-bye to 4 grandparents
- welcomed 1 nephew and 1 niece
- learned a lot from mistakes
- taken tons of risks
- in the next 11 years, Garrison will be 15, Brody 13, and Warner will be 11! Whoa testosterone! I will be 42 and Brian will be 44.
And, we are still standing!
Brian found that this was our 'steel' anniversary. What better gift then some new stainless steel pots and pans. Ours from 11 years ago have seen their fair share of trial and error gross meals and eventually some pretty good ones. They have seen better days. So, I am the proud new owner of some stainless ones!!! And, I really do enjoy cooking, so these are the perfect gift for me.
He also overcame his fear of the Melting Pot (he got sick after we went there in Nashville four years ago... it was a stomach bug but he ended up in the hospital with it... it was right after we ate at the Melting Pot). We enjoyed schmusing over fondu and the relative quiet of not having our kiddos in tow.
I love you Brian. I love you through every high and low we have faced together. It seems that we have stood on the highest of mountains and traveled the darkest of valleys. You are my secure place. Partners in crime. Adventurers in heart. Thank you for teaching me to take chances. To look at the big picture. To see the little things. To set boundaries. And to learn from mistakes. To not dwell on the past. But rather, give our future a past to remember. Thank you for traveling on life's road with me. Eleven years has flown by. Let's slow down and enjoy the ride.
