Last night we said good bye to the children and volunteers of Marikaj.
It was sad.
The small church was PACKED with children. Our team sat outside and enjoyed the sounds of Albanian worship from afar.
It was beautiful.
Before the service, we visited the town of Marikaj. It was fun watching the children eagerly gather for service. We were blessed to visit a precious elderly couple who operate a small olive processing factory. Their olive oil is divine. While we were walking through the town, the Muslim call to prayer started on the loud speaker. It was a reminder of the opportunity that we have to promote the name of Jesus in a Muslim country.
It was special.
We also met with the team from the church in Tirana about our time there this weekend. We are completely in charge of this one! It was interesting to watch as we shared our ideas with them. Although they could all speak English, it was sometimes difficult for them to comprehend what we were telling them. Once they figured it out, the leader would respond with 'I like this.'. It cracked me up every time she said it. We came in expecting 30 children for this event. They are now expecting 60-80. Whoa nelly! It will all work out perfectly though. God will go before us.
It is amazing.
