"Do You Believe in God?" and Ineffective Ministry

Garrison went to day camp for the first time last week at our church.  He was sooooooo unbelievably excited to be going this year.  I knew he was listening at camp when we were out in the backyard playing ball one evening.

It was GL's turn to bat, and Brody threw a mean fit.  He proceeded to pout in his best two-year old way.  Garrison, being the boss, tromped over to Brody and here is the conversation that insued:

G:  {In close proximity} Now Brody, you already had your turn!

B: NO!  I want to bat {major furled eye brows}

G: {sternly} Brody, do you have God in your heart?  Do you believe in God?

B: NO!  He is mean to me!  Not fair!  It's my turn.  God is mean to me.

Garrison could do nothing more than to look at me in complete disgust that his brother would say such a thing.  It is evident that G would not make a good evangelist either...his threatening approach may not be the easiest way to minister to the lost and needy.  We'll be working on that.  He finally said, "Momma!  Brody can't say that.  Tell him Momma!"

Just another good ole day with the Mosley's!  These boys fight about EVERYTHING, including God.  At least He is not left out of the mix!
