Love Beyond the Wrestle

I asked the boys what they wanted to say in their Father's Day card to their Daddy.  GL quickly proclaimed, "I love you because you wrestle with me."  Not surprisingly, Brody chimed in, "I love you because you play with me and wrestle with me."  Pretty good but I know their love for their Daddy reaches much deeper than wrestling.  What I think they really mean is ...

Thank you for always being our hero.  Steady and sure.

Thank you for letting your inner-kid shine and pushing us to be brave.
Thank you for coaching our 'team' and showing patience that goes unmatched.
Thank you for being a living jungle gym/piggy-back-ride-giving-maniac.
Thank you for allowing us to be silly and joining in on the fun.

Thank you for treating us to the sweeter things of life. ;-)

Thank you for allowing us to occasionally take the wheel in life and fill bigger than we really are.
Thank you for pushing us to be couragious and try new things...even if the chances of puking are high.
Thank you for living the great adventure...even when it gets uncomfortable.

Thank you for seeing the best in us and admiring us both near and far.
Thank you for letting us be boys.  rough.and.tumble.  For training us up in the way that we should go.  For teaching us what it means to be still and know who Jesus is.  For being the godly example that we need so desperately to mimic as we grow.  For helping us write the adventures of G, B, and W.  Thank you for loving us to the moon and back.
